Link’s Awakening Remake: What you need to know

by | Jun 27, 2019 | Link's Awakening

This past E3 has been jammed pack with epic titles. There are two that I have to play before kicking the bucket. The first is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s Sequel. The second is The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening… the remake. If you haven’t seen the trailer please proceed below to a special showing.

It looks great doesn’t it! If it’s not apparent yet… I’m excited. But what do we know about this stellar remake? I compiled the list of everything you need to know… but then I forgot it at home… sorry.

Just kidding! It’s right here, Everything you need to know about The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Remake.

THE NEW AND THE OLD

Being a remake, Link’s Awakening will feature many of the same gameplay that the 1993 release had. However, Eiji Aouma has said that he tries to add new features in each of the games he works on, even if the game is a remakes. One of those new features is a new way to play dungeons. Now the player has the ability to arrange their own dungeon, making gameplay differ from one person to another.

” When I create a remake or reimagination, I don’t want to just make it completely the same; I always want to incorporate new elements. For even people who have played the original, I want it to be a fresh experience. So I was looking for that opportunity. “

The way it will work is, as you play the game, you will collect unique chambers. Chambers are rooms that you can add to expand your own custom dungeon. Other than the unexpected dungeon change, the changes to the game will most likely be more quality of life and Easter Eggs (other then on top of the mountain).

Art STYLE of Link’s Awakening Remake

This game has a very interesting art style. The style consists of using the tilt shift technique to give the player an impression that they are playing in a tiny little world. Many photographers use this technique as well (here’s my proof). We don’t see this that often, however, in video games. the in-game result is of a lighter, playful, child kind of mood. Which I believe suites this remake very well.
